Iconic punk with a ‘no bullshit’ attitude.
Formed in 1974, The Stranglers were quickly embraced in the punk scene with their raw ‘no bullshit’ attitude. While they were able to transcend the genre through their musicianship, they created a unique sound, all their own. They released their first three albums (‘Rattus Norvegicus’, ‘No More Heroes’ and ‘Black and White’) in a span of thirteen months and scored numerous hit singles. In 2021, they released most recent album ‘Dark Matters’ to the world. Some music reviewers considered this throwback “the best Stranglers music in forty years.
Thanks to their sound, which combines a brilliant melodic ‘touch’ with a dark aggression and effortless cool, The Stranglers have become one of the most influential bands of the punk era!
Support act Soviet War
Soviet War hails from Leuven and balances on the border between old-school punk and dark post-punk.
Connoisseurs and collectors will certainly remember songs like ‘The Nuthouse’ or ‘Guns for fun’, but fortunately the band sounds fresh, energetic and motivated enough to be able to carry away a new audience as well. ( Depot Leuven)
