The 32nd Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) will take place in Leipzig from June 6 to 9, 2025. Every year, the city becomes a mecca for the gothic scene, hosting concerts, readings, lectures, film screenings, classical music performances, tours, and parties. Over 20,000 visitors are expected, and Leipzig will be cloaked in black for the weekend.
The WGT is one of Europe’s largest music festivals, featuring 150-200 bands across 20+ stages, from clubs and bars to churches. The lineup will cover all genres of gothic music, from synthpop to goth-metal, EBM, neofolk, medieval, and industrial. Notable venues include the historic Moritzbastei, the Volkspalast dome, and the crypt of the Völkerschlachtdenkmal. Alongside music, there will be a medieval market, a pagan village, readings, art exhibitions, and theater performances. The agra-Halle will transform into the world’s largest gothic market, and scene DJs will play at themed parties, including a popular fetish party with strict dress codes.
Festival-goers can camp for free at the agra grounds and use public transport within Leipzig during the event at no extra charge.
The WGT is famous for its unique, welcoming atmosphere, where people from around the world gather to celebrate, meet old and new friends, and immerse themselves in the gothic community.
