Thurston Moore
Thurston Moore, the bad boy who pushed the boundaries of alternative music in the early 1980s with Sonic Youth, has been doing it solo for years now.
Thurston Moore moved to New York City at a young age to play punk, after which he started Sonic Youth in 1980. Since then, Moore has played a leading role in the alternative rock scene. Sonic Youth brought about a whole new generation of experimental rock ‘n roll, and it earned Moore a spot in American music magazine Rolling Stone’s top forty best guitarists of all time.
Live, Thurston Moore (guitar/vocals) is joined by My Bloody Valentine bassist Deb Googe (bass), Jem Doulton (drums) and James Sedwards (guitar).
Dans Dans
Dans Dans is back! With their most unfiltered, most spontaneous and most “punk” album to date. Guitarist Bert Dockx, bassist Fred Lyenn Jacques and drummer Steven Cassiers make up the talented trio. Since their first album in 2012, they have been bringing a fascinating blend of jazz, rock, psychedelic blues with a hint of film noir.
Since its debut, this trio has astounded with music that is impossible to fit into one box. Instrumental, atmospheric, compelling, sophisticated and wild. With already four full-length albums, two live recordings, a cassette under their belt and memorable concerts at North Sea Jazz, Cactus Festival, Gent Jazz, Pukkelpop, Jazz Middelheim, etc., Dans Dans is tirelessly building on its own musical universe with this fifth studio album. Once again, seemingly casually, they prove why they are one of the most intriguing bands from Belgium and far and wide.
King Hannah
King Hannah managed to establish such a solid reputation just before the outbreak of the pandemic with a small number of live shows that they soon landed a record deal with esteemed label City Slang. The first single “Creme Brulee” was released in the fall of 2020 and showed exactly why this duo from Liverpool is considered so promising.
On display is how singer Hannah Merrick glides her intoxicating and mysterious voice over Craig Whittle’s unpolished guitar parts, with soundscapes and slow drums as the foundation. In the meantime, the debut album “I’m Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me” has been released and we can only look forward to this live show in our country.
