Nick Cave is coming to the Sportpaleis in Antwerp on Wednesday, October 30. Together with The Bad Seeds, he will present their new album ‘Wild God’.
‘Wild God’ will see the light of day on August 30. Production was in the hands of Nick and Warren, David Fridmann mixed the tapes and musical alchemy was provided by Nick, The Bad Seeds, Colin Greenwood and Luis Almau.
In 2017, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds last performed “Skeleton Tree” at a sold-out Sportpaleis. That resulted in ★★★★★- reviews in all media: “Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at the Sportpaleis: so beautiful it hurt.” (De Morgen) and “After two and a half hours the audience floated outside, all fatigue of a working week long forgotten, purified in a bath of deep emotions.” (De Standaard).
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds was formed in 1983 and has enjoyed growing success ever since. Pointing out artistic highlights is an impossible task. Live, The Bad Seeds become an increasingly close-knit group. A collection of character heads (Thomas Wydler, Martyn P. Casey, Jim Sclavunos, George Vjestica, Larry Mullins and, of course, Lieutenant Warren Ellis) that makes Nick rise above himself every time.
In any case, Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds are eager to introduce their new album ‘Wild God’ to the public: “I never think about how a record is going to go live, it never, ever occurs to me. The lyric writing process is way too hard to take ideas like that into consideration. But, when I listen to ‘Wild God’ now, I think we can really do something epic with these songs live. We’re really excited about that – the record just feels like it was made for the stage.” Thus Nick Cave about the album.
