Most musicians who have been around for more than half a century often rest on their laurels, enveloping themselves in the warm glow of their accumulated musical heritage, accepting one Lifetime Achievement Award after another and playing yet another “Greatest Hits” tour. But Sparks are not like most other musicians. They are utterly unique.
With the release of their 26th album, “The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte,” due out May 26, Ron and Russell Mael are building on that unique and uncompromising path. And in a move that is equally unexpected, their new bold, genre-defying modern masterpiece will additionally be released by Island Records, the label that released their astonishing breakthrough album “Kimono My House” in 1974.
Concurrent with the album release, Sparks will also hit the road for the biggest headline show of their career in America as well as a world tour that already includes 2 sold-out headline shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall. On June 20, the iconic band will also come to Belgium for a unique concert at Cirque Royal, Brussels!
